St. Charles Parish Courthouse Re-Opening

Hahnville, LA –President Matthew Jewell will re-open the St. Charles Parish Courthouse to the public effective Monday, May 18, 2020 at 8 a.m.

The following persons are not permitted to enter a Courthouse or other governmental buildings:

1. Persons who have been diagnosed with or have had contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last fourteen (14) days.
2. Persons who have been advised to self-quarantine by any doctor, hospital, or health agency.
3. Persons exhibiting respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills or fatigue.
4. Persons entering the Courthouse will be required to have their temperature taken. Anyone having a temperature of 100.4 degrees or greater will be prohibited from entering courthouse.
5. Any member of the public wishing to enter the courthouse or other public buildings will be required to wear a facial mask or covering (face masks and coverings will not be supplied).

Anyone attempting to enter in violation of these protocols will be denied entry by security.

It is further recommendation that all individuals who do not have a specific appointment or court ordered appearance should contact the appropriate governmental department or court division prior to attempting to enter the Courthouse.

These restrictions shall remain in effect temporarily until it is determined to be safe to remove them.

As Louisiana enters the Phase One of re-opening the economy, St. Charles businesses are encouraged to follow the guidance from the Governor’s Office, the Louisiana Department of Health, the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the CDC.
