St. Charles COVID-19 Testing Site Details
Hahnville, LA – Today, President Matthew Jewell announced the opening of a COVID-19 self-testing site operated by the Louisiana National Guard with assistance from Access Health located at Hahnville High School at 200 Tiger Drive, Boutte, LA, 70039. The site will be open daily from 8 a.m. to Noon, or until the daily 250 testing capacity is met. People in line by noon will be tested.
“More testing in St. Charles parish, and neighboring river parishes, will provide additional information needed to continue to prevent the spread of COVID-19 for not only our parish but the river region which has seemingly become another hot spot,” said President Matthew Jewell. “I would like to thank Governor Edwards and GOHSEP, as well as the St. Charles Parish EOC, School Board and Sherriff’s office who have all been influential in providing this resource not only to our residents but to the entire river region and neighboring parishes.”
As a self-testing site, individuals will be required to perform a nasal swab test on themselves to limit the interaction with on-site personnel. Instructions on what to expect and how to perform the test can be found here.
Additional drive-thru testing sites in the region include The Alario Center (Jefferson Parish 8 a.m. Daily) and Gramercy Elementary (NEW St. James Parish open 8 a.m. to Noon daily). For a full list of testing sites, please visit the Louisiana Department of Health website here.
The St. Charles Parish Urgent Care located at 13100 River Road, Destrehan, LA 70057 remains open for testing for first responders and health care workers only.
