St. Charles Parish Reports its Third Case of COVID-19
Hahnville, LA – This afternoon, Parish President Jewell and the Emergency Operations Center were notified by the Governor’s Office and the Louisiana Department of Health of another case COVID-19 of a St. Charles parish resident, diagnosed at an Orleans parish facility. The total number of COVID-19 cases in St Charles Parish is now at three (3). HIPAA laws prevent additional information from being provided.
“We understand that receiving vague and limited information can be frustrating. HIPAA Laws prevent the Louisiana Department of Health and the Governor’s Office from giving us any more information than what we have shared with the community. We are providing the public with the exact information we are receiving to keep the public informed as best as possible,” said President Matthew Jewell. “Please continue to follow CDC recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
St. Charles Parish government remains operational and residents are urged to utilize online services when and where available.
Residents should remain vigilant and continue to follow CDC hygiene and social distancing recommendations including:
- Clean your hands often using soap and water and wash for at least 20 seconds; affective hand sanitizers should contain at least 60% alcohol.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Check in on elderly neighbors, loved ones and those with underlying chronic diseases that are at the highest risk
