With the support of community partners, the Department of Community Services gave out more than 350 Thanksgiving baskets and turkeys to elderly and low-income families across St. Charles Parish.

“Each year we are able to bless more and more families in need and it is because our community is selfless when it comes to helping others,” said Joan Diaz Director of Community Services. “I can’t thank our community partners enough for all of their support to make this happen.”

As part of the Thanksgiving Basket Program, the department provides baskets of goods to residents in need for the holidays each November. Each basket contains a turkey and other dishes that one would find at a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
