St. Charles Parish will hold its 21st annual Independence Day Celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. July 3 at the West Bank Bridge Park, 13825 River Road.
The event will feature a performance by Seabrook, a patriotic balloon-twisting clown and more. Music in the band’s repertoire includes swamp pop, country, Cajun, fifties, sixties, classic rock, disco, easy listening, Mardi Gras, novelty songs and current hits.
The band is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., with a fireworks extravaganza to begin at 9 p.m.
The event will also feature a military flyover. The flyover will be part of the opening ceremony, which is set to begin at 6:15 p.m.
Seven local groups will sell food and drinks at the event, to include sweets and baked goods, lemonade, nachos, Frito pies, jambalaya, corn dogs, french fries, pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs ice cream and snoballs. Poppers, 3-D fireworks viewing glasses and glow necklaces will also be available. Vendors will be located in the West Bank Bridge Park’s concession stand and permanent shelters.
All proceeds from concession sales at the July 3 Independence Day Celebration benefit local non-profit groups and charitable causes. They include:

I-310 southbound and northbound off ramps to LA 18 will be closed 15 minutes prior to the fireworks and throughout the show, and LA 18 will be closed from Ashton Plantation Boulevard to the School Board Office. Pets and glass bottles are NOT allowed within the West Bank Bridge Park. Ice chests and folding chairs are welcomed. In addition, the fire marshall has ordered that no one be allowed to enter or leave the park 20 minutes before and 20 minutes after the fireworks show to allow time for the area to be checked for safety.
