Renewal Overview

St. Charles Parish residents will decide the funding future of the Department of Parks and Recreation after the Parish Council voted unanimously in favor of renewing the existing property tax millage on the Dec. 10 ballot.

The proposal calls for a 3.02-mill property tax renewal to fund the Department of Parks and Recreation for the parish. The renewal represents no new taxes for parish residents.

The Parks and Recreation Department oversees the maintenance of 320 acres of parks at 52 locations in St. Charles Parish which includes: boat launches, multi-use paths, levee bike paths, the Ormond Spray Park and the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center.
