DESTREHAN PLANTATION TO HOST FIRST LOCALS' DAY IN ST. CHARLES PARISH

Destrehan Plantation is set to host it's first Local's Day on September 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the plantation grounds at 13034 River Road in Destrehan.

"Locals' Day was created to give back to the community while educating residents on new events hosted at the plantation," said Melissa A. Monica Destrehan Plantation Public and Media Relations Coordinator. "Residents can invite as many family, friends and co-workers as they would like."

The event is free to St. Charles Parish residents and the following activities will take place throughout the day:

  • Exploration of  the plantation's creole cottages
  • Viewings of the Mule Barn
  • Pulled Pork sandwiches, Plum Street Snowballs and other local snacks
  • 10% discount on any items purchased at the Plantation Store
  • $5 discount on historical tours and demonstrations 
  • Kevin Gullage Band performance from 2-4 p.m.
