THREE SIMPLE WAYS YOU CAN HELP THE ST. CHARLES PARISH ANIMAL SHELTER
There is no denying that people love their furry friends in St. Charles Parish. But did you know that our Animal Shelter has given our residents many ways to volunteer with animals? Here are just a few simple ways you can give back:
1. Supply Donations
Most residents think that dog food is the best thing to donate to a shelter but there are better and more convenient options. Different items to donate are Kong toys, pillow cases, fleece blankets, towels, and new or used collars and leashes.
2. Exercise with Shelter Animals
The Rescue Run Club is the most popular way to volunteer at the animal shelter. This program was launched in November of 2016 and the run time every week is Thursday at 6 a.m. Follow St. Charles Parish Rescue Run Club Facebook for more information. Here is a video the Public Information Office did on the Rescue Run last year:
Once a month the shelter has an event called "Give-A-Lick". During this event there is a behind the scenes tour and different family activities. All ages are welcomed but if 14 and under they need to be accompanied by an adult. Dates for the event vary every month so make sure to keep up with the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter Facebook page to find out the new updated dates and times.
