St. Charles Parish East Regional Library

Post Date:May 17, 2018 10:03 AM

The St. Charles Parish Library will present a free after-hours live rock concert featuring wizard rock band Tonks and the Aurors on May 26 from 7 p.m.-8 p.m.

“This concert is one of the kick-off events for the library’s summer reading program,” said Teen Services Librarian Amy Duke. “We’re excited about it for so many reasons—it’s Harry Potter-themed, we’ll get to rock out to live music in the library, it’s free for everyone to attend, and it’s suitable for all ages!”

This is an all-ages show, and all attendees are encouraged to wear their best Harry Potter themed costumes. There will also be a magical activity for children.

Tonks and the Aurors perform wizard rock, a genre of music that gets its inspiration from the Harry Potter books. Often called the Bruce Springsteen of wizard rock, Tonks and the Aurors have traveled throughout North America and Europe playing in libraries, bookstores, and conferences. They have released five full-length albums since 2007.

All St. Charles Parish Library events are open to the public and free of charge.
